Vincent’s Member, Euan Friend, and his three brothers have signed up to row the Atlantic as part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge (TWAC) in December 2022, rowing 3,000 miles from La Gomera, in the Canary Islands, to Antigua. This is widely recognised as the ‘world’s toughest row’ and TWAC is one of the most demanding endurance events on the planet.
They are extremely excited about the challenge and have been working hard to put together a campaign to get them to the start line and to start fundraising for the three charities that they will be working with. They need to raise £125,000 just to get to the start line (covering the cost of the boat, race entry, equipment, training, travel, insurance etc) and have set an ambitious target of a further £125,000 to raise for the charities. To secure the boat they have put down a £15,000 deposit using their combined savings, with the remaining £47,000 due on the 31st of June.
The brothers are hoping to raise the money for the race through corporate sponsorships, separate to the money for the charities, which they will raise though fundraising events and donations from family and friends. The sponsorship pack may be found here.
Any support which Vincent’s Members might be able to give, whether corporate or personal, would be most welcome.
