The notices for 4th week are as follows:

1. Vincent’s Awards
Every year, the Club offers awards for outstanding scholar athletes who have displayed leadership qualities and a willingness to participate in outreach activities. A range of scholarships and bursaries are available and applications for this year’s awards are open until the 7th of July. The awards are means tested and any individual who plays university sport is eligible to apply. 2. Events this week
On Thursday from 7.30pm we will be holding our second cocktails evening of the term. It’d be great to see many of you and your clubs there.

3. UMRio Charity Night
This Tuesday, Fever are hosting a night in support of UMRio, a charity which teaches rugby to children in one of Rio’s most notorious favelas. 3rd Week Notices TT17

The notices for 3rd week are as follows:

1. AGM on Tuesday
This will be starting at 7.30pm sharp. Note that the Club will only be open to members for the evening.

2. Free drinks event on Wednesday
Former president and founder of Snow Leopard Vodka Stephen Sparrow will be hosting a free drinks event at the Club from 7.30pm on Wednesday. He has kindly donated some of his finest vodka to the Club and is intending on teaching us how to make some signature cocktails on the night. Please email events@vincents.org if interested.

2nd Week Notices TT17

The notices for 2nd week are as follows:

1. Annual General Meeting
The Club’s AGM will be held on Tuesday of 3rd week at 7.30pm. Please see the agenda that was circulated earlier in the week. This is a very important event for the Club so please make every effort to attend.

2. This Week’s Events
Sophie and Ed have been busy organising this week’s events. On Tuesday at 8pm we have the first Quiz Night of the term and on Friday at 8pm, the first Cocktails Evening will be held. Bring your clubs along!

3. Networking Event with Executive MBA programme
On Sunday the 7th of May at 9pm we will be hosting a networking event with the Executive MBA programme. There will be around 40-50 individuals from the programme at the clubhouse. These are all highly successful and influential individuals from a wide range of sectors and many are keen to recruit Oxford students for internships/jobs etc.

Summary of the role:

Assist the Interest Rate and FX Derivatives (IFD) Sales team:

  • in their sales efforts to UK and Scandinavian corporate clients by helping to prepare marketing materials and indicative pricing
  • in liaising with other front office business partners including Relationship Managers, Debt Capital Market teams, Structuring, Research and Trading
  • in liaising with critical support functions including Middle and Back Office, Compliance and Legal

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Preparing market updates and proposals for clients
  • Indicative pricing of derivative structures and solutions
  • Research on markets and clients
  • Preparing credit requests
  • Maintaining business data statistics
  • Reporting client information, deals, business follow-ups and updating SG databases
  • Assist sales with KYC/Account opening process
  • Assist sales with Payment/Confirmation issues
  • Maintaining and improving spreadsheets used by the desk
  • Establish strong working relationships with various business lines
  • Assist other London based IFD desks on a ad-hoc basis as required

Competencies

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills – the ability to synthesise complex market arguments is crucial

President Elections
Next Monday we will be holding president elections at 730. Henry Taylor and Ronan Llyr will be running – I will send out another email later today with their manifestos and details about the evening. Please make every effort to attend next Monday as this is a very important day for the club, and the two gents running deserve your support.

Lunch Price Change for Guests
From this week, the price will increase by £1 for guests. Anyone paying using their members’ card will have the usual lunch price, but otherwise lunch will be charged at the increased price.

Harry Aikines-Areeytey talk: 
Harry Aikines-Areeytey will be coming to speak at Vincent’s on 2nd March 2017. Come for drinks from 1930, the talk will start at 2000.
A world class athlete specialising in the short sprints and a representative of Great Britain in Athletics with records such as the first to win both the 100m and 200m in the World Youth Championships in 2005.
Harry will be giving some insight into all things regarding professional athletics and what that requires in terms of training, mental preparations and all other things regarding athletics.
