1. 1st Week Events
Quiz Night – Thursday 26th April
The first quiz night of term will be held this Thursday from 8pm. As always, please invite guests along for a fantastic evening hosted by Ryan Kavanagh and Henry Taylor.
Blues Presentation Evening – Friday 27th April
A reminder that tickets for the Blues Presentation Evening this Friday are still available. All are welcome to the Club for drinks following the presentations.

 

 

2. Annual General Meeting
The Club’s AGM will be held on Friday of 3rd week at 7.30. Please see the agenda and proposed rule amendments that were circulated earlier in the week. This is a very important event for the Club so please make every effort to attend.

 

3. Replacement Card charge 
Please note that there will now be a £5 charge for replacement member cards.

 

4. Bain True North Scholarship

2018 Bain & Company True North £10,000 Scholarship for Women.

 

Are you bright, enthusiastic and curious? Do you enjoy solving challenging problems? Are you looking to chart your own course through an extraordinary career?

Bain’s London office are launching a scholarship program for exceptional female students. A group of top candidates will be invited to a two-day workshop in our London office which will offer a unique insight into our industry and what a career in consulting can offer. The workshop will be followed by the opportunity to participate in early full-time Associate Consultant interviews and the scholarship winner will receive £10,000 and a Bain mentor! The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage women to enter a field where women are traditionally underrepresented.

Submit your application here by 6th May 2018. You’ll need to include your CV and answer a few short questions. Eligible participants are penultimate year female students.

5. Hospitality at the Cricket Varsity match 

The Vincent’s Club will be hosting members at the Varsity Cricket match in the University Parks on the 2nd and 3rd of July. Members will be able to access The Clarendon Club marquee from 10.30 to 18.30, to include:

 

A welcome Glass of Pimm’s

Cold Buffet: Fresh Salmon, Coronation Chicken, Vegetarian Flans.

Hot New Potatoes, selection of breads with butter.

Four Salads: Green, Potato, Tomato, and Coleslaw.

Desserts: Fresh fruit Salad, Chocolate Roulade, Lemon tart

Coffee and Tea

Afternoon Tea with homemade Fruit cake

Cash bar with two red wines and two white wines also three Real ales and soft drinks.

Price: £40.00 pp.

9th Week Notices HT18

1. Changes to opening times – Saturday 17th Mar
From 7pm this Saturday (after the Six Nations finishes), the main room in the clubhouse will be unavailable for use due to an event. The upstairs dining room will be available as an alternative. I apologise for any inconvenience.
2. Biotech/Pharma Networking Event – Tuesday 20th Mar
The final alumni networking event of this committee’s tenure will focus on the Biotech/Pharma industries. The evening will begin at 8pm and will involve informal discussions over drinks with Dr Rupert Vessey and Cameron Knight, two non-resident members working in these fields. If interested in attending, please email Cian at oldmembers@vincents.org.
 
3. Vincent’s and Atalanta’s Boat Race Party – Saturday 24th Mar

The election for the role of next year’s president will be starting at 7.30pm at the clubhouse this coming Tuesday. Please make every effort to attend this highly important event for the Club.

1. Cocktail Evening – Friday 2nd Mar
This Friday from 7.30pm, the final cocktail evening of term will be held at the clubhouse. Bring up your clubs to what promises to be a big night.

1. Speaker’s Dinner – Tuesday 20th Feb
Spaces are still available for this term’s speaker’s dinner which will be held at the clubhouse on Tuesday from 7pm. We have the pleasure of welcoming the UK’s National Security Adviser, Sir Mark Sedwill, to the clubhouse for the evening. 1. Tonbridge School Recruitment Event – Tuesday 6th Feb
This Tuesday from 7pm, Tonbridge School are hosting a drinks event at the clubhouse for members interested in teaching. If interested, or for further information, contact careers@vincents.org.

2. Quiz Night – Thursday 8th Feb
The first quiz night of term will be held from 7.30pm on Thursday, with OUHC’s Ryan Kavanagh the host for the evening. Not one to miss.

3. Outreach Camp – Thursday 8th Feb

3rd Week Notices HT 18

The notices for 3rd Week are as follows:

1. Club Opening Times
Contrary to last term, the clubhouse is now open with the evenings from 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

2. Tailor’s visit – Monday 29th Jan
The club tailor will be at the clubhouse tomorrow from 12pm. If you would like to get measured for any items or are interested in finding out more about the service, come along before 2pm.

3. Atalanta’s Cocktails – Thursday 1st Feb

4. Brunch – Sunday 4th Feb

Following the success of the inaugural Pinky Pong tournament and in a slight change to the schedule, this Friday (26/01) sees the return of this prestigious event. Sophie and Ed will be sending out further information very soon.
 
3. Tonbridge School Recruitment Event
On Tuesday the 6th of February at 7pm, Tonbridge School are hosting a drinks event at the clubhouse for individuals interested in a career in teaching. If interested, or for further information, please email careers@vincents.org.
